In the middle of Chihuahua, Mexico, there is a bridal shop called ‘La Popular’ that has become the talk of the town for quite a while. However, the bridal shop is not known for its beautiful wedding dresses. It is because of its spectacular mannequin which resembles a lot like a real human!
For over 80 years, customers of this bridal shop have always been fascinated with the human-like bridal mannequin which is dressed up in a white wedding dress. They have always thought that the mannequin is actually a mummy than a plastic dummy.
According to local sources, the mannequin who is called ‘La Pascualita’ is the deceased daughter of the bridal shop’s owner who was preserved and made as a mannequin at the shop
La Pascualita was first started to display in the bridal shop’s window in 1930. Legend says that the mannequin has a similar look to the shop owner, Pascuala Esparza.
It was reported that Pascuala’s daughter died on her wedding day after bitten by a poisonous black widow spider
Hence, the locals suspected that La Pascualita was actually the deceased daughter of the owner.
However, Pascuala denied such rumours but no one believed her words because the mannequin looks eerily similar to her daughter
What is more surprising is the mannequin is said to change its position at night and if you are happened to be near the mannequin during night, you will feel her eyes staring at you and follow your every movement!
On top of that, only the owner and a few close employees are allowed to dress and undress the mannequin.
One of the shop employees, Sonia Burciaga who is in charge of changing La Pascualita’s outfit twice a week says, “Every time I go near Pascualita, my hands break out in sweat. Her hands are very realistic and she even has varicose vein on her legs. I believe she’s a real person.”
Spooky isn’t it? Even the close-up image of her hands look exactly like human hands. If you look close enough, you will see fine lines on her fingers just like us!
Yet,no one really knows if the legend of Pascualita is a true story. Whatever that is, La Pascualita is no doubt a very realistic mannequin we have ever seen so far.
