Most people would not know what a lion and a dog have in common. However, an unlikely pair of these animals at G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma would prove that there is nothing stronger than a close bond between close friends despite their many differences.

Bonedigger is a 226-kilogram lion and he is also a close friend of Milo, an 8-year-old Dachshund dog.

The two have been inseparable ever since Bonedigger was a small cub

Their friendship began with a touching note. Bonedigger was born with a metabolic bone disease which left him with crippled legs. When Milo and two other five-year-old wiener dogs, Bullet and Angel discovered Bonedigger’s crippled legs, they tried to soothe and protect him.

Fast forward three years later, they now become close friends.

Bonedigger and the dogs enjoy playing in the grounds and eating raw meat together

Among the dogs, Bonedigger is closest to Milo.

Mr. Reinke who is the zookeeper said: “This friendship between a 5-kilogram wiener dog and a 226-kilogram lion is the only of it’s kind in the world ever seen”

“Milo does his best to copy Bonedigger when the lion tries puffing to communicate with other lions in the park.”

Their unique friendship has caught the attention of the public when Joe Exotic TV shared their video on YouTube.

Exotic told Today in 2013: “The dogs just think of Bonedigger like their big friend and they love each other.”

Even though he is a deadly predator, Bonedigger never once hurt the dogs

In fact, he protects them and will protest when they take the dogs out from his cage. They love sleeping together.

One of their most shared videos shows Milo cleaning Bonedigger’s teeth.
