At first glance, Rob and Amanda’s relationship seem like any other couple’s love story. Amanda was a cocktail waitress at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. She met Rob Mooberry who was bar-tending in the same hotel. It was love at first sight and they instantly hit it off.

The pair started dating a month after their first meeting. They were so right for each other that they moved in together after five months of dating. Everything was going well for the pair until Rob began to feel sick constantly. He would often complain about not feeling well and he started shedding a tremendous amount of weight. In the year Amanda knew Rob, he had lost over 30 kg.

With his ailment becoming more serious, he decided to see several doctors over the course of a few months but nobody could pinpoint what was the matter with him. One surgeon finally decided that the best way to find out was for Rob to undergo an investigative surgery because according to him “no healthy man loses 30 kilos in one year”.

What the doctors found devastated the couple. Rob was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer. While Rob underwent the surgery, doctors were able to remove a tumor situated in his colon which was the size of his fist. That was not all, the cancer had advanced so much that it had spread to his bowels, lymph nodes, and bladder.

Rob was in a critical state. The doctors told him that he had only a few weeks left to live. While the couple spent their days after Rob’s surgery in the hospital, they came to a decision. Amanda recalls, “One night, as I laid in the hospital bed next to Rob, he turned to me and whispered, ‘I want to get married’.

“I immediately cried out, ‘So do I!'”

Realizing that they may not have much time together, the couple tied the knot only a couple of days before Rob was to start his radiation therapy in the hospital. They had a small ceremony and Rob went in for his treatment. Unfortunately, after the first round of radiation therapy, Rob showed no signs of improvement.

They thought about how they wanted to proceed and came to a decision which confused the doctors. Rob decided not to continue radiation and chemotherapy but instead, opted to try non-conventional methods of treatment. He wanted to let his body rid itself of the malignant cells and toxins.

Amanda said “We both changed our diets to strictly vegan, experimented with different herbs, and even did coffee enemas.”

The doctors could not understand the logic behind their decision because there has not been any scientific evidence which guarantees that these alternative methods can cure cancer. Nevertheless, they stuck by their decision and something that can only be a miracle happened.

“We both changed our diets to strictly vegan, experimented with different herbs, and even did coffee enemas,” said Amanda. After only three weeks of following this treatment, doctors found that nearly 80 percent of the cancer was gone from his body. By the end of 2014, Rob showed no signs of still bearing the disease.

He showed no signs of improvement and therefore made the decision to opt for a non-conventional method of treatment

Although his story has spread across the internet like wildfire, Rob is careful to stress that this was not a 100% full-proof way of getting rid of cancer. It is still considered a medical marvel that he was cured by following a strict vegan diet.

The couple then decided to start a family together after the whole ordeal. They had to rely on the IVF method of conceiving because Rob’s radiotherapy made it impossible to conceive naturally. Amanda had one heartbreaking miscarriage before giving birth to a set of twins in 2016.

“It’s crazy to think that a few years ago we had all the odds stacked against us, but It just goes to show you that love can create miracles,” Amanda said.
