One night, Roman policemen received a call of crying and shouting from the house of an elderly couple.
According to local newspaper La Repubblica, the policemen later rushed to the house where they found 84-year-old Jole and her 94-year-old husband, Michele.
However, to their surprise, the policemen did not find any traces of any crimes committed. Rather, the elderly couple was the only ones in the house and they were the ones who were crying and shouting.
Lonely by not having visitors for quite a while and heartbroken by the devastating headlines in the news, the couple became sad.
After learning the reason for their cries, Agents Andrew, Ernesto, Alexander and Mirko stepped in to check on the couple. It was at that moment when they stepped into the kitchen and saw just a few grapes that they realized the couple has not been receiving any guests lately.
Worried for the elderly couple’s health, the policemen later called for paramedics. While waiting for the paramedics to arrive, they asked if they could cook and sit down with them for a dinner.
The policemen later cooked up a simple dinner for them and the couple—spaghetti, butter, and some Parmesan cheese.
The four policemen spent their evening chatting and eating with Jole and Michele.
The police headquarters later took the chance to post about the heartwarming moment on Facebook which it instantly became the talk of the town.
The post has received more than 69,000 likes and 28,000 comments so far.

Another comment wrote, “Their loneliness and despair were assuaged by two angels of the night dressed in blue! Thank you for your humanity, caring, and thoughtfulness!!”
