A lot of people are interested in photography but not many have an impressive collection of vintage cameras like the Aquaman actor Jason Momoa. Besides Harley Davidsons, electric and bass guitars, Momoa has a keen interest in vintage and model Leica rangefinders.
Famous for the collectibility of its model, the early and rare cameras and accessories of the iconic German camera maker can fetch extremely high prices. In 2018, one anonymous buyer once bought a rare 1923 Leica camera at an auction in Vienna for $2.96 million—making it the most expensive camera ever sold.

He’s explained the details on the camera.

Being a photographer’s son, Momoa has been seen lovingly cradling a 1958 M2 model and a classic 73mm lens from 1930. Momoa’s love for the cameras has been noticed by the company and they have set to work on a special project together with him.
Leica has worked with celebrity fans before when they released the special edition Leica M-P ‘Correspondent’ camera in 2015—which was designed by Lenny Kravitz and specially made to look ‘pre-worn’. Kravitz was coincidentally Momoa’s wife’s ex.
Match made in heaven, the Leica company decided to work on a special project with Momoa.

Besides producing the finest art of precision engineering and highest technology that makes it highly desirable, many keep wondering why these cameras are collectibles.
“The legendary reputation of the Leica brand is founded on a long tradition of excellent quality. In combination with innovative technologies, all Leica products fulfill a common objective: better pictures, wherever perception and visualization matter. Our customers appreciate this very much!” told the Leica spokesperson to Bored Panda.
Just the sight of camera lenses will make him happy.

Someone clearly can’t take his hands off the camera component.

“When choosing a partner, the main focus is on ensuring that the partner fits the Leica brand, the values of the company and our products,” explained Leica on why they’ve decided to work with Momoa.
Leica believed that they’ve chosen the right person.

Can’t wait to see how the project will turn out!
