17yo Georgia student accepted into 42 colleges and receives more than $1.6 million in scholarships

Efforts and hard work definitely pay off. The 17-year-old Georgia teen Jordan Nixon from Douglas County High School recently received 42 college acceptance letters—the highest number of acceptance letters any student that any school ever had.

Not only that, but the high school senior was also awarded more than $1.6 million scholarship awards. Nixon says that she doesn’t study all the time, but she has balance and knows how to manage her time.

Nixon also devoted herself to persistently apply for entrance into dozens of colleges and universities and for numerous scholarships. Despite her amazing achievement, Nixon’s cheerleading coach says that the devoted 3.5 GPA student is very humble.

Neither fame nor attention, Nixon shares the thing that motivates her.

“I wanted to challenge myself. That was the most important thing for me, just to show others anything is possible and that anyone can accomplish it too,” told Nixon to Fox 5.

Nixon shared that the most letters she got in one day is three, and it’s overwhelming.

Planning to study international business, Nixon currently still narrowing her choices for which school to attend after she graduates and considering ones that are geared toward that and the ones geared towards diversity.
