Firefighters deserve more than what we credit them for. They are brave, undeterred and most importantly, put their lives on the line everyday at work.

They don’t discriminate when it comes to rescuing lives as all lives matter to them.

To the Malaysia’s Fire and Rescue Department, it also includes animals. When a cat was found stuck on the balcony of a high rise building, they rushed to the scene to help the poor feline.

Their story was shared on the Friends of Bomba Malaysia Facebook page, with pictures that show the ordeal they had to go through to retrieve the little animal.

A team of six firefighters was sent on the mission.

Though it’s not an everyday emergency situation for them where no fire is involved and the life at risk is non-human, they still carried on bravely.

Equipped with specialized tools used by cleaners to clean windows of tall buildings, the men escalated the multiple-level heights of the building.

It wasn’t getting any easier for them as the facade of the building was irregularly shaped and strong winds were swaying them from one side to the other.

However, it was all worth it when the cat was safely taken out of the balcony.

While the reason for the feline ended up being on such a high rise building is yet to be discovered, its safety is assured nevertheless.

Netizens were amazed at the great effort put out by the brave men. The comment section was filled with compliments and notes of gratitude thanking them for saving an innocent life from possible death.

“All lives matter. Thank you. Let me treat you all to a meal,” read a thoughtful comment.

“You’re the best. Thank you for saving the cat, may God ease your duties and grant you blessings,” wrote another person.

It may be just another day at work for the men, but it was a memorable one.
