A woman from Chengdu, a city in Sichuan province, China, admits that the reason she works in a restaurant as a dishwasher is that she is bored at home. However, every time she arrives at her workplace, she is dropped off riding in a Bentley, and a netizen has caught her on video.
The woman was wearing a striped pink collared shirt, rubber boots, and an apron bearing the restaurant’s logo. The video clip of the woman coming out of a black Bentley was posted on April 1 and has gone viral on Weibo, a Chinese social media site.
The Weibo user joked that the woman may be richer than the owner of the restaurant. Additionally, the caption also read, “What the woman lacks isn’t money, but things to do.”
Online news media China Times claims that the woman belongs to a wealthy family and works as a dishwasher in a restaurant since she is bored staying at home.
Additionally, the restaurant’s owner said that the woman who works as a dishwasher comes from a well-to-do family. She only applied for the job because she wanted to pass the time and was not after the paycheck.
“It is very boring at home, and I feel uncomfortable if I don’t wash dishes for a day,” the woman admitted.
It was also discovered that the young woman driving the Bentley who brings her to the restaurant is her daughter.
Oriental Daily claims that the woman’s daughter supports her mother’s wishes to work and pass the time, and she willingly drops off and picks her up daily at the restaurant.
“This is what rich people do.” said a netizen in a comment on Weibo.
Netizens praised the woman for her enthusiasm, and most of them wished her good health to be able to do what her heart most desires.
In the comments section of the Weibo post, some netizens also shared similar stories of individuals from financially-abled families working since they felt unnatural just staying at home all day. They wanted to share what they can with the community.
