“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” This is a famous quote from a 1986 movie entitled Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. In a way, he was right. Nowadays, people struggle with the fast-paced way of life. Each person has a different way of coping with the society. However, no matter how busy or preoccupied people may be as of late, we can still see the warmth of an individual and their affection for their fellow men.
Recently, a netizen shared a heartwarming article in a Facebook group that attracted the attention of its members. The story was about a caring convenience store clerk who touched the hearts of netizens.
Photos from the post that was shared showed an employee from a 7-Eleven convenient store. On that day, the store was under construction. One of the construction workers came into the store and left his son on the benches near the entrance. He told a female 7-Eleven employee that no one was at home to tend to his son, and he asked her permission if the little boy could stay temporarily inside the store while he worked.
The store clerk agreed without hesitation. The child was well-behaved and did not make a fuss at all while inside the store. He obediently sat on the bench and did not cause any trouble to the staff while they tend to their customers. The little boy just watched his father from the window while he worked the construction outside. However, it did not take long before the child fell asleep and lay down on the bench.
Noticing the child sleeping on the bench, the store clerk worried that the child may catch a cold while he slept, so she took out an extra uniform from her locker and covered the child with it like a blanket. She took a photo of the sleeping child and said in the post: “I was like this when I was a child, running around with my parents…”
Just a few words from the clerk touched the hearts of netizens, and they felt the warmth of how the clerk felt for the sleeping child. Some left heartwarming comments on the post for the clerk’s thoughtfulness:

The photos of the child sleeping recalled memories of some of the netizens. They shared stories of similar situations during their childhood, going places with their parents until they fell asleep feeling tired. Many people do not hesitate to lend a helping hand with incidences such as these. They show great affection for small instances, such as protecting a sleeping child.
People tend to help others who are in a similar situation. You can hold up an umbrella to a stranger who is avoiding getting wet from the rain.
The simple gesture of the 7-Eleven clerk was really touching. The boy was well-behaved, and netizens hope that he would grow up with so much love and contribute to society in the future by paying kindness forward.
