In 2012, 2 doggies were rescued, and for surprising reasons, were inseparable. They wanted to be together all the time. They were named Bonnie and Clyde. They were very close that Clyde, the smaller dog, is always seen atop Bonnie, and the larger dog did not seem to mind at all.
The duo was found roaming the streets as strays in Arizona and were taken to the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC). When the adorable doggies arrived, the staff at the shelter immediately realized that they were best friends. However, they still get surprised to see Clyde sitting on Bonnie.
“Initially, we thought it was a fluke, but it started happening a lot,” MCACC’s public information officer, Jose Santiago, said. “Now, it is unusual to not see them that way. They are as bonded as you can imagine.”
The 2 dogs always sleep together, and they usually “spoon” as they rest. “It speaks volumes about the trust and bond they have,” Santiago said. “It’s comforting to know that they are bonded so strongly to alleviate any stress, but it also stresses the importance of them going home together.”
In August 2017, Bonnie and Clyde were adopted together and found a loving forever home. Surely, these 2 lovable pups will enjoy a long and lasting friendship together with their new family.
